2008 MOCA Round Up Rules
General:
Please abide by the following general rules.
Each is required by our host, sanctioning
organization, or insurance provider.
Non-compliance will
be grounds for possible disqualification or
expulsion from the show.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on
Great Hills Baptist Church property.
- Careless, reckless driving or
unnecessary noise by entrants is prohibited.
- All signs and displays will be presented
in good taste. Obscene or suggestive artwork
or lettering must be removed or covered.
- Cars will not be allowed to exit or move
prior to the completion of the awards
ceremony without a walking escort from the
show staff.
- All tents and displays will be weighted
appropriately to prevent potential hazards
to participants, attendees and property.
Weights will not
be provided – bring your own, please.
- Entrants are to maintain his or her
immediate show or display area clean of all
trash during the show and are to pick up and
dispose of any
trash in their car area prior to departing.
Judging/Trophies:
- Class trophies will be awarded based on the
tallied results of class judges using a point
system.
- Final class breakout will be determined by
show pre-registration. There will not be any
single car classes. Similar classes may be
combined
if there are not enough entries to make up a
single class. MOCA reserves the right to combine
classes.
- New classes may be created, or existing
classes sub-divided, if it is determined by the
show committee that, based on pre-registrations,
a
sufficient number of vehicles of a similar type
have been entered to justify a unique class.
- Trophies will be awarded to the final
determination of classes based on the quantity
of cars in each class, plus four “Best Of
Awards” i.e.
Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Interior, and
Best Engine.
- A trophy will also be awarded to the
“People’s Choice” vehicle. The “People’s Choice”
will be determined by popular vote from
participants in the show.
Original/Restored Class:
Generally, autos entered into the
Original/Restored Class are not restricted from
limited modification such as aftermarket wheels,
replaced engines, chrome components (e.g. valve
covers air cleaners etc). However, such changes
must be consistent with wheel
diameters/styles, fuel induction systems, and
engine types typically available during those
model years. As an example, fuel injection,
overhead cam engines and 5 speed/AOD
transmissions were never offered for the 65
through 73 model Mustangs. Three or more
such modifications would instead make the car
eligible for the Modified Class and the car’s
owner will be encouraged to change. Should the
entrant decline reclassification, the judging
result must, of necessity, reflect that the
vehicle is not in compliance with class rules.
To maintain judging objectivity, no additional
weight will be given for highly chromed/polished
engine bays, braided hoses, auxiliary instrument
clusters, etc. Of key importance will be the
overall general appearance/condition, use of
stock components, and cleanliness
(interior/engine bay/trunk) of the car.
No restrictions are stated for safety
modifications such as radial tires, improved
braking systems, auxiliary gauges, etc., or
other upgrades such as
audio systems, as long as such upgrades do
not substantially alter the original concept of
the car.
Unrestored Class: Autos entered into
the Unrestored Class may have only minor
modifications, limited to upgraded wheels and/or
tires, improved radio/cassette/CD systems, and
limited chrome components (e.g. valve covers air
cleaners etc). In general, the intent is for
these to be well-cared-for originals, not
restored or “resto-mod” vehicles. As with
restored classes, the vehicles will be judged on
the overall general appearance/condition, use of
stock components, and cleanliness
(interior/engine bay/trunk) of the car.
Modified Class: No restrictions apply.
Modified vehicles also include vehicles that
have been altered to appear (generally referred
to as ‘faux’ cars), to be a Shelby, Roush,
Steeda, or other recognized aftermarket vehicle
manufacturer’s product. Also included are faux
BOSS, GT, Cobra, etc. vehicles, substantially
modified from production stock, to appear to be
the manufacturer’s production car. |
